There are five basic steps to using Markdown:

1. Create a new text document, or open an existing one.
2. Add your content, either starting with the first line of a new paragraph or continuing where you left off in the last paragraph.
3. Format your content by applying Markdown syntax to it.
4. Save your document as a .md file, or export it as HTML or PDF.
5. View your document in a web browser, or print it out for offline reading.
